There are several areas that fall under this category and they are listed below:
Bereavement Family Dinners - Pam Conrad (352-787-1829)
The opportunity to help the chairperson set up for and serve a bereaved family dinner after a funeral or memorial service; bring a dish to serve a designated number of people (meat and rolls to be furnished the UMW); and /or help serve and clean up.
Ministry of Visitation - Rev. Mal Patterson (352-787-1829)
Volunteer opportunites to reach out to our congregation with compassion in various ways. We call on members in hospitals, nursing & rehabilitation centers, shut-ins and homebounds to give encouragement, company, prayer and a lot of listening.
There are also opportunities to deliver flowers to the folks in our Community UMC Family that are in the hospital, nursing homes, or are house-bound.
You may team up or go alone. If you have a real concern for others, this ministry could be for you.
Prayer Shawls - Rev. Charlotte Lewis (352-787-1829)
These are handmade by our parishoners for those who are hospitalized or homebound or anyone needing a touch of God's love in their life. These shawls are dedicated in church the second Sunday of each month.
