CUMC Busy Bees Sewers & Quilters

The Busy Bees are a group of CUMC women that meet every Monday from 9:30 AM to 1 PM to work together on sewing and craft projects. They also help with the Children's Ministry costumes, Church banners and help knit the beautiful Prayer Shawls. 


Easter Egg Hunt /Picnic

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic is held the Saturday before Easter.

Fruitland Park Day

The city of Fruitland Park, FL holds a festival complete with a parade, music, antique car show, dances, free jump-a-ramas for children, food vendors and much, much more in the spring. The parade grows every year and is a much anticipated event. CUMC sponsors a float every year.

Men's Prayer Breakfast

A Men's Prayer Breakfast is held each Tuesday morning in the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 AM. This is a time for good food, good fellowship, and a time for lifting our praises and concerns up to our Lord. Contact Glenn Kaye, President (750-1758) or the church office, if you have questions about the Men's Prayer Breakfast.


Scout's Day

CUMC honors their sponsored Boy Scout Troop #143 at all three services during Scout Sunday. Afterwards the scouts prepare a delicious spaghetti dinner and dessert for one of their many fundraising activities to cover costs for equipment and outings. 

Thanksgiving Dinner

CUMC hosts this annual event with a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner and all the trimmings, that is prepared by our Chef and volunteers for the church. It is not only a wonderful dinner and time for fellowship, but it is a blessing for church and community members who are far away from family members. Noon in the Family Life Center on Thanksgiving Day.


Trunk or Treat

A new annual event for CUMC is Trunk or Treat. October 31st at 6:30PM in the parking lot.

Come with your vehicle all decorated and fill your trunk with candy for children to go trick or treating. Hot dogs and drinks will be served. A fun time for all.  

United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; to expand concepts missions through participation in global mininstries of the church.

A United Methodist Women's Unit Meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall at Community UMC.

The following individual Circle meetings are held monthly. Most of the Circles change their schedule for the summer. For a complete schedule refer to the Community UMC newsletter or contact the Church Office.

Circle of Eve meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in Room 100 at Community UMC. The Circle Leader is Cathy Smalling.

Circle of Friends meets the third Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am in members' homes. The Circle Leader is Joan Rose.

The Esther Circle meets on the second Monday of the month at 10 AM in Room 106 at Community UMC.  The Circle Leader is Nancy Perkins.

The Rebekah Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall of Community UMC.  The Circle Leader is Judy Withers.

The Ruth Circle meets on the third Monday of each month at 10:30 am in the Club House at Spruce Creek South.  The Circle Leader is Laurel Minch.

Sarah Circle meets at 11:00AM on the 3rd Thursday of each month in members' homes.

Wednesday Night Dinner

From September through mid May, a wonderful dinner is prepared for your enjoyment. Dinner is on a come-and-go basis from 4:00 PM - 5:45PM.  Dinners include an entree, vegetable, salad, dessert and drinks.  Prices are: Adults - $7, Children -$5, and Family - $20.

Menus can be found on the church calendar. Just click on the Wednesday you wish to check. 

Please make sure you call for a reservation by Noon the previous Monday, so we may have an accurate head count.


The first Saturday in February, CUMC sponsors a community event that grows more grand each year. Several thousands of people participate in free food, games, entertainment, and fellowship for all peoples and denominations. It is a family event and adventure remembered year round. CUMC goes all out to provide a chance for the community to meet our church members in a totally religious free event other than the chance to visit our home and know that an invitation is always open to come and join us for worship.
