    "Sounding The Call"

The church has embarked on a three phase building program. Phase one consisted of building a parsonage, expanding and renovating the sanctuary, and adding a narthex to the church. Phase two includes paving the parking lot, constructing a family life center, and renovating the existing fellowship hall and offices. Phase three will be the addition of more classroom space by adding a second floor to the existing education wing of the church.

Phase one has been completed. Phase two is moving from the planning into the operational stages. Plans have been prepared and submitted to the appropriate agencies for approval. A builder has been selected and the necessary financial arrangements are being completed. It is anticipated that construction can begin early in 2007 and that it will take about eighteen months to construct all parts of phase two.

The family life center will be a multi-use facility. It will have a commercial kitchen with a dining area that can seat 400 persons. It will also be constructed so that a variety of recreational activities can occur there. Basketball and volley ball are but a few of the many youth recreational functions that can be served. There will be a portable stage for small productions and musical performances. It can also house an overnight traveling group or serve as a temporary after storm shelter.

The renovation of the existing fellowship hall will provide more storage and four additional offices. The current dining area will be reduced in size but will be of a size to serve the needs of the pre-school, small receptions, small group meal functions, and group meetings of 100 or more. The current offices will be renovated to provide for a larger reception area and better work space.
