Community United Methodist Children's Ministry Programs Are Designed As Something Special For Very Special Kids! The Age Range Of The Program Is From Preschool At Three Years Through The Fifth Grade For The Older Elementary Group.
Sunday School
Sunday School which is scheduled at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM, is for all age levels. The program offers a mixture of bible stories, songs, crafts, activities, and games designed to develop and expand the children's experience in Christian education.
- Preschool beginning at age three
- Younger elementary - kindergarten through first grade
- Older elementary - second grade through fifth grade
Children's Church
Children's Church is an exciting worship experience designed for children ages four to fifth grade. It includes a variety of aspects such as songs, games, puppets, object lessons, skits, and story time. Children's Church is held Sundays at the 11:00 a.m. service immediately following the children's parable.
Children's Choir
The Children's Choir rehearses every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 PM - 4:15 PM. We offer a snack for all children from 3 PM until 3:30 PM. For Fruitland Park Elementary children, we pick the children up at the school and walk them over to the church at 3 PM. All children in grades K-5 are welcome to join our children's choir. We have a great time singing. Our Children's Choir sings about once a month during our Traditional Worship Services. They also sing during special programs and during our early Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Come and give us a try, we look forward to your kids joining us.
Boy and Girl Scouting
Community UMC makes its facilities available to these young people and those that work with them to acquaint all with the opportunities the church has to offer. Our education building is used by the Boy Scouts on Monday evenings, Cub Scouts on Tuesday evenings and a Brownie troop on Thursday evening.
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Specials
Periodically these grades are invited to join us for different fun filled evenings. Activities in the past have included movies, bowling, hayrides, and swimming. These are usually held on Friday evenings.
